SEARCHING OUT KNOTTED HAIRS IN YOUR BEARD! At times you'll reach for out for your beard and you may discover the odd hair follicle that appears to be a little knotted or matted together.

It doesn't matter how neat and tidy you keep that beard, knotting is pretty much inevitable. Given a little more extra care such as beard trims, applying beard balm and combing can untangle these knots easily. So, worry not!

PULLING OUT TROUBLESOME BEARD HAIRS IS A NO GO!

 I can totally relate to this myself but please try really hard to avoid picking away at your beard, as excessively doing so can lead to you unwillingly thinning out certain areas of your beard or even worse, create bald patches on your cheeks!

Best piece of advice would be to suggest when you discover any knots or troublesome areas within your beard you gently work them between your fingers rather than plucking away at your patiently growing facial forest. This way you'll more often than not resolve the problem rather than brutally plucking away at your furry chops.

KEEPING YOUR BEARD CLEAN IS KEY, BUT DO NOT OVERWASH IT! 

Over washing will wash out your beards naturally formed essential oils which can cause hair weakness and dry out your beard and face, causing you future problems such as 'beardruff' and other nasties. I would suggest you wash your beard no more than twice a week, giving your beard a much needed break from shampoos and any other cleaning products you may already be using in the shower.

MAKE SURE YOU USE THE CORRECT PRODUCTS ON YOUR BEARD! 

So, you're in the shower and you reach out for your hair shampoo and conditioner. Whilst you are doing so you happily splash the said product all over your beard to help keep things clean, fresh and tidy. Heck, whats the harm? it is for hair after all! The problem is beard hair is very much different to the hair growing on your head.

Beards are much more coarse and often gets referred to as being very similar to pubic hair, and rightfully so. And with that you'll need to take a little extra care on the products you choose to use when washing your facial fluff.
